Wild West Collaboration Project: Week 2

With my assets done with the UVs and textures done I would then have to Submit them so the games designers can use them in their game. However due to my set back it has put me behind a couple of weeks. Which disappoints me as I have finally got myself back together and I know that I could have done it within the time set. But looking past this I have done rather well to catch up with the work. All I have left to do is make a scene to present our groups assets and to Present screen shots of my assets.

So starting off I went for the scene which we have a already been given a template of the scene. The reason for this is we can’t change the length and width of the plain but we can adjust the height and depth of it. With this my scene I have come up with is a Wild west abandon mine shaft that is being used by out laws. With this I raised two sides to create cliffs as walls for the scene. Which I then added in the assets to fill in the scene however it felt so basic. So to improve this I adjusted the scene by improving the cliffs by adding more detail and adding a ramp on one of the cliffs. To add to the scene by adding another level to the scene. However I did have some issues with adding the ramp as I needed it to be straight for the track. Which took me some time to perfect the ramp as some of the sections of track would be floating. I did think to myself it would have been easier to redo the scene but then it would have wasted more time than adjusting the scene. Another issue I had with my scene is with the placement of the assets as of instance with placing vegetation on the cliffs as some would fit in whereas others just didn’t look right. Which took me some time playing around with their placement. Overall I think that this scene has turned out rather well in how the scene comes to life with what went on in the scene. However I feel like I could have improved on the cliffs/walls of my scene as they feel blank and empty. I could have solved this by adding more assets to them but as I said before I couldn’t get it to look right. Another way I could have improved this is improving the detail on the cliffs/wall. I also would like to improve the lighting in the scene to play around with the time of the scene such as a sun rise or sun set. But yet again time is against me which I would like to improve on with my time management.
