Art Test: Meet Mat 2 (week 1)

With the art test we have been tasked with entering into the substance painter competition called Meet Matt 2 where you are given a basic 3D plain character as a canvas to create a character. As from looking at the submitted designs are impressive which wasn’t helpful as it kind of made me feel the my work wouldn’t be up to that level. However I am going to do my best to come up with an interesting design. With the ideas I come up with was Master Chief, Doom guy and etc. As I had a rough idea of where I wanted to go with my design as I am going with a video game character which most of them were taken.

The reason for this is that I am still getting use to using Substance painter but also most of my ideas are to complicated. So I started off with the base to warm myself up with substance painter. With creating the figure I gathered some reference images of the vault door for the base and some images of the vault boy. With texturing the base I did have some issues with adding weathering detail with rust and scratch marks. I have covered this before but completely forgot how to do it. So I had to refer back to my
