Choosing an idea for my game:

With making my game so far, I still haven’t really got a clear idea for my game’s idea. As I am still drawn to the idea of my original game of a run and gun style of game play based around a futuristic theme where you play a bounty hunter. Which for the prototype game play you a put into a simulation tutorial where you get the ropes of the controls and play around with the movement and the projectiles. This idea sounds good to me as it puts good use to the mechanics I have learnt but also the idea of having it as a tutorial level for a prototype so that the player can get use to the mechanics. However, with this idea its similar to game that are already out there. This make me wonder if my second idea is better.

As for my second idea is that you play as a test animal being tested with so many chemicals resulting in your animal to become more mutated. With the game play is mainly about completing tasks to escape this hellish place. Which each level you are given a task to complete to escape the lab and its tormenting task. However, over time the chemicals they use make you more powerful gaining new abilities. Keeping the game play interesting.

Overall looking at these two ideas I have come up with aren’t too bad as they use a range of mechanics that I have learnt and could add to. But back to the idea I am leaning more towards the second idea as I feel like that there is more I could experiment and play around with this idea compared to the original idea. As for the original idea its similar to games that are already out there. So, I am going to go with the second idea due to it being unusual yet interesting.
