Indie Game workshop session: Keys,Doors and Pressure plates

With this session I got to learn some of the basic mechanics such as keys, doors and pressure plate which I found very useful and interesting. As some of these mechanics I could use in my game. As with creating the doors and keys I found interesting in how the blueprint works which I am getting a better understanding from using the blueprint in the workshop session and in my spare time. With making the pressure pad and the door I found rather difficult to understand in how it works in the blueprint. So in my spare time I will look into this mechanic to understand how it work. Another mechanic that I got to make was a Jump pad which I have already made in my spare time just to learn some more mechanics for my game that I might use. But mainly doing this to practice and get a better understanding of the blueprints. Although the jump pad we covered is much better than the one I done in my spare time. As you can actually have the direction you want it to go.

Another mechanic we got to learn a physical materials such as Ice and Bounce which you can add to objects that affects their physics. This was interesting to cover but I feel like I might not need them for my game. However I will keep this in mind in case I end up using them in my game. Overall I found this session to be rather useful due to learn some basic mechanics that I could possibly use for my game. With this session I didn’t come across any major issues with any of the mechanics.
