Art test: Character Production part 1

So, for my character I have gone for a mech/robot character, so to help me start off my character I am using a low poly master chief reference. As it will give me an idea of how I can structure my character because I have had a couple of attempts trying it without references but had no luck. So far, I have managed to create my characters foot and a section of his lower leg. Which so far is turning out alright as I have never made a 3D character model as I have only made weapons, vehicles, etc. This is going to take me time to learn how I can create a character. So, from all the workshop sessions I have put good use to the new tools and skills into making my character. Such as the multi cut allowing me to adjust the sections of my characters foot allowing me to work up from the foot to the ankle. As before using the multi cut I would just end up with a weird looking ankle.

Overall looking back on this session, I think it went well however I had a lot of setbacks due to my lack of knowledge making characters. As I had no Idea of where I should start off making my character, so I went with the foot. As it would give me an idea of the size and shape of my character. To improve on this session of work I need to reduce the number of polygons which I am going to look into ways to reduce the polygons. That will allow me to have more to work with my characters design.
