With this week has been up and down with production as I started off strong with trying to get myself back into getting a work flow when producing assets and written work. As with this week we didn’t have a team meeting which could have been useful. As we could have caught up with each other on where we are at with the game and how everyone has been dealing with lock down. Other than that I got back into working on assets which I started focusing on more of the natural assets for the game. As we are lacking on natural assets for the game as we want the game to have a over grown feel to the game. Due to humanities extinction because of climate change where the world is taking over the ruins of human civilisation. So I carried on with one of my assets that I have already started which was a log. When looking at it, it was really basic and plain especially its shapes as its not really a fluent shape. So to fix this I scrapped it and started from fresh which turned out well as I implemented some feedback from the team especially roxi. As she wanted to give it an over grown look to it so adding mushrooms and moss growing on the log. With this she gave me some reference images making it easier to get the idea across. With making the log turned out fine as it fits in with the style. With creating the natural assets I made a couple of tree stumps to add to the natural asset list. With these I had no issues with making them expect I found it difficult to make them look natural and I could have made some variations to change it up. Overall with the assets I done alright but I felt like I could have been more productive with the assets I could have made this week. But the reason for this is that I am unsure if we are going to carry on with the game or just stop working on it. On top of this I feel like I could have done more environmental assets such as vines, variations of trees and etc. As it would give the game more of an overgrown feel.
With some of the practical work sorted for now I caught up with my written work such as my Journal, planning my research report proposal and CV. As I have been more focused on the practical work than the written work. When really I should be more focused on the written work due to the revised submission for the hand in focusing more on the written work. With typing up my CV I had an issue as to what my CV should look like and what it should include due to the lock down. To solve this I looked on the VLE to find any tutorials on it which there are. Saving me time and stopping me from stressing out about it. As I want to try and get all the written work out of the way so I don’t have to stress out about it near the end of the submission for hand in. Looking back on this week I feel like I could have achieved more this week in the terms of producing more work. As I have been up and down with this unit by how much we are expected to do and the quality of it. As its difficult to see what is expected from us, so I will get in touch with the course to see what is expected of us and how they want use to do the work. On top of this I am finding it difficult to keep myself motivated as I am starting to loose interest in the unit. However a way to keep myself motivated is to remind myself the time I have got left. This sort of work for motivation but at the same time stresses me out as I feel like I haven’t done enough for this unit.
