With this session we got to learn about UV and texturing. Which I’ve found rather interesting in how it works. As before I would apply textures to sections whereas now I can be more precise and add more detail to 3D assets. With this session we got to learn a lot about the UV tools and the UV editor. With the UV tools there is a whole tab of tools to unfold and flatten the UV of the 3D object. With there is a whole range of tabs full of different tools which I will investigate the other tools and learn/ experiment with them in my own time. So, the main tools I used for this session are the stick a sew tool tab which are the basics. As the main tool I used were the cut tool to cut out the faces of the asset. Which I found very useful as it allows me to break down the object to its basic shapes. Overall, I will use this tool in the future as it’s an essential tool for UV mapping.
Another useful tool I learned of is the UV editor as it allows you to get a perspective of the UV mapping of your asset. But also, it has a create menu that allows you to get certain UV mapping such as planar and cylindrical. Which again is a useful tool to remember for the future as its essential for UV mapping. Anyway, these are all essential as I am really interested in 3D modelling and hopping to carry on with it.
