From filling out the Caillois grid with my five favourite games, it tells me a lot about the types of games I play. As by filling out this table I can figure out where they come under in the categories. As I found that some of the games cover multiple categories in certain ways. Making it difficult to work out which ones come under the categories. As many of them sort of cover the categories making it difficult to sort them out. With sorting out the games I found some of them surprising and other ones that were predictable that came under the categories.

As with Battlefield 1 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege I instantly knew that they would come under the Agon category as they are based around rivalry as both games are set on two teams to win a battle to see who comes out on top. Proving who’s the best team of players making the player push themselves to prove they are better than other players even in some cases proving that they are the best player out of the team. I find that many of my games are competitive in certain ways to outsmart other players

Another game that I knew would come under a category is Uno in Alea. As it’s a game of chance as you are picking card out of a deck not knowing what you might get but also what might happen. Which also has chance in a way as you have to get lucky with the cards you get and how other players place their cards.

Also, another one of my favourite games that has come under a different category is fallout 4 under Mimicry. As this game is all about roleplaying and not breaking character as you are placed into a world which is affected by your choices depending on the type of character you’re going to be. With this game you don’t want to break character as you want to feel part of the game which makes you feel immersed in the game.
